Tasting - Nissley Petit Claret

Name: Nissley Petit Claret
Variety: Blend of Chambourcin, Cayuga, & Cabernet Franc
Region: Lancaster Valley, PA
Country: United States
Year: 2006
Price: Not Sure (Parents had it, probably a little higher than the average)
Winery Review:
"An off-dry, light-bodied pleasant red wine with a soft balance and distinct berry character.  Serve at room temperature, with lamb, grilled meats, roasted vegetables and stir-fry chicken."

My Review: The smell was very earth with a soap smell that reminded me of a bathroom after taking a shower.  The taste was fairly similar to the smell.  There was a very subtle hint of fruit but most of it was just a sour, acidic vinegary taste with what tasted like soap water on the finish.  This wine was already opened at my parent’s house so I believe it was already going bad.  At least I now know what a wine that has begun turning to red wine vinegar tastes like.  This wasn’t paired with any food.
